Improving Total Quality Management (TQM)
TQM, Total Quality Management, is a term defining an approach of continuous improvement that companies implement to increase the quality of the goods and services that they provide to their clients. Procedures are designed and conformed to in order to raise the quality of finished products while eliminating scrap, defects and unnecessary labor hours.
An advanced Total Quality Management system involves employees as well as management in innovating to increase productivity and quality. Flexible software allows a company to set goals for TQM and track whether those goals are being met. Part of a complete TQM system, the continuous improvement component (sometimes referred to as a “Teams” system), offers incentives based on employee performance.
TQM only works in practice when correct actions are reinforced and incorrect procedures are penalized. The only way to know which employees are performing procedures correctly is with a system wrapped around specific goals for individual companies. One company that offers software TQM solutions that are flexible is Tuppas Software, www.Tuppas.com. With Tuppas, one can choose the components of TQM that they need without purchasing the modules that are unnecessary.
